Following the success of last year’s Dick Whittington, Exeter’s home-grown professional pantomime once again comes to Exeter Corn Exchange. This year it's the timeless tale of Aladdin and his magic lamp.

Exeter's premiere pantomime is produced by Kickline and directed by Ian Trafford.

Aladdin will bring the West End to West Country, with a hugely experienced and talented professional company led by Exeter born and bred actor Steve Bennett.

Steve returns for his seventeenth consecutive professional appearance as Exeter’s best loved panto dame, playing Widow Twankey of course.

The Genie of the Lamp is played by Linda John-Pierre, a fantastically talented singer with appearances in The Lion King and as Mama Morton in Chicago to her credit. Daniel Page, playing delightfully evil and ever so slightly scary Abanazer, is no stranger to the West End either, having performed as Mr Braithwaite in the hit musical Billy Elliott.

Dan Oliver, who played Dick Whittington last year and who has toured in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will play Abanzer's hilarious henchman Karim.

Rounding out the professional company are Bethany Moorhouse from Exeter as Princess Yasmine and introducing Will Trafford as Aladdin in his first professional role.

Director Ian Trafford says: “The success of the pantomimes produced by Kickline has allowed us to re-invest in the productions and add more value and more innovation. This year the stage will be extended into the auditorium, what we call a thrust stage, which will make the experience even more engaging for the audience.

“We also have a very exciting surprise in the Cave of Wonders, where Aladdin finds the magic lamp, and you’ll believe a man can fly when you see our magic carpet special effect.”

Aladdin runs at Exeter Corn Exchange from 15th December 2012 to 6th January 2013. Tickets are now on sale from 01392 665938 and online at
